Hungry Humans Trying Our Jerky

Ever wondered what the buzz is all about? Dive into our series, 'Hungry Humans Trying Our Jerky,' and witness the rave reviews firsthand! 🎬 It's not just us claiming our jerky stands out; it's honest reactions from genuine first-timers. Why rely solely on our word when you can hear the unfiltered praise from total strangers?

The chipotle has just a touch of "kick" and is tied with Salt & Pepper for my #1 fav. I take these ATV'ing, camping, hiking and they're a treat to have on the trail - with a bit of protein to keep you going. They also hold up extremely well to being bounced around or smashed into a backpack! :-)

Frequently Asked Questions

Plant-based, Vegan Jerky FAQs

Isn’t prickly pear a cactus?

Yes, in fact, it is the state plant of Texas, and we use only the juice from the fruit of the prickly pear, not the paddles. It is a beautiful magenta color and adds a one-of-a-kind flavor that folks really enjoy!

I have heard that the fruit of the prickly pear is very healthy.

It is full of all kinds of good things for the human body, including magnesium, potassium, calcium, and vitamin C, as well as phenolic acids, flavonoids, and pigments, which act as antioxidants.

Chipotles are hot is this flavor very hot?

While some chilis, like the chipotle, can be very hot, ours is smokey with a bit of warmth at the end and is well-liked because the flavor is bold but not too spicy at all.

What are your proteins made from?

We make all our products from whole non-GMO soybeans and not isolates like some others.

Aren’t your plant-based proteins highly processed?

Compared to a baked sweet potato, yes, however, our proteins are minimally processed. Soybeans are grown and harvested, then crushed, cooked, extruded, dried, marinated, baked, and bagged.

Are soybeans bad?

Well, not the non-GMO types, and they contain zero estrogens, so the stories of them being bad are a lie. Google blue zone and soy, and many people who live the longest consume plenty of non-GMO or organic soy.If you are afraid of estrogen, we get it, and then you should avoid dairy, which has far more than anything else.

How much protein is in each bag?

Ounce for ounce, our jerky has more protein, calcium, magnesium, and iron than beef and is full of fiber and phytonutrients. It has no cholesterol or saturated animal fat, and we use less than 10% of the resources to produce it compared to meat. Our jerky runs up to 17 grams of protein per bag.

Every purchase supports an animal sanctuary?

Yes! A portion of every bag sold goes to Rowdy Girls Sanctuary here in Texas, which was once a cattle ranch. They love and care for about 135 animals, and about 70 of those are bovines who now get to live out their natural entire lives.

How many flavors do y’all have currently?

While we will be adding new flavors or items throughout the year, our subscribers find out first, so sign up and become one, and we look forward to further delighting y’all with bold and unique flavors!

Prickly Pear, please explain.

In two of our marinades, we use juice from the fruit of the prickly pear, as it is the state plant of Texas naturally full of great things for the body. It adds a unique and wonderful flavor to our Teriyaki and Chipotle jerkyies. Bacony Bits made from plants seem odd.

Bacon-like bits have included soy for 75 years. Actual cooked bacon in a bag or jar came out 30 years ago. Still, todays, bacon-like bits from GMO soy and artificial colors originate as crude oil, so we use only non-GMO and gluten-free plants.

Can I cook with it?

Of course, you have essentially tender protein strips with a solid flavor. Folks enjoy making stir fry or tacos with it. The only limits are your imagination or still not having All Y’alls Cookbook.

How do I submit flavor ideas?

We always welcome ideas; however, you must understand that we are working on formulas every day of the year, so we likely have thought of it or attempted it. We may hold a contest one day!
